The best shoe traction for walking dogs on ice and snow.

YES they will rust if not washed and dried. Salt and other de-icing agents are corrosive and you should treat all steel products exposed to these chemicals with care. They stay on my boots and are easy to put on and take off even with boots on. They grip well on slippery surfaces and don't form ice balls like microspikes. They offer a larger surface area than micro lugs, giving you smoother traction and better performance on clean road surfaces.

    Great grip, no more falls

I bought the next size up because my Keen snow boots have a molded round rubber toe cap and no protruding outsole to keep the rubber from slipping off the cap. I used some velcro from my old YakTrax to make sure they stay on my boots. I walked on slippery snow, ice, deep hard snow and slush and felt safe in all of these situations. I walk my dogs every day and when the ground got slippery I got worried because I'm older and can't afford to fall and injure myself. I recommend these shoe chains…

Always a must have for Colorado winters

Looking forward to another winter so thanks to them I won't fall on my butt. This is my 4th pair. I'm going to try some rustoleum this year, maybe because I don't usually dry them well enough and they end up rusting everywhere I go. I wear size 9.5 shoes and this year I decided to go up because size 9 women's shoes are too tight and give me calf cramps and pain in my toes. So the New Balance 9.5 Big leather hiking shoes are perfect for me. My area is Colorado, USA where the entire map goes from

    Sturdy, good grip

I wear them every morning in wintry conditions for a delivery service that does about 8,000 steps a day. I've run on mixed snow, packed snow, ice, mud and pavement and it's been about 40 days now. They have roughly the same traction characteristics as the Yak Trucks, but are more robustly constructed. They show no signs of rust, wear or other damage. They hold up securely on my work shoes. They're a little trickier to put on and I'm just going to leave them in these boots for the rest of the…

Ideal for building in the north.

I'm wearing XL over a set of Columbia Bugaboot winter boots, size 44. I work on a construction site in Boston so I always walk on ice, mud, then concrete, then Rubble then bulldozers etc. I've always used yaktrac in the past which work fine but you can't walk on them. Debris in them or rubber on the floor will cut and tear instantly. There are no problems with these. The grip is better than the Yaktrac and they last a million times longer. Pros: You are amazing. The rubber tread of my boot…

Easy to slip on and durable for snow plowing

I broke a pair of cheap shoe chains with wire wrapped around rubber while shoveling snow in northern Idaho this winter. Sometimes I cross slopes and do a lot of turns with the snow blower so the other couple actually got thrown off the rubber and then the loose wire ripped the rubber itself until so much rubber broke I had to hold on. them together with zippers. I decided enough was enough and bought them. They are much more durable and I get a MUCH better grip! The chain cover has some gaps so

As non-slip as it can be without crampons.

They work like chains on boots. They are ideal for cleaning/clearing the driveway. For serious off-road hiking I would buy some crampons. The chains are distributed in such a way that you do not feel any bumps on the soles of your feet. This has not been the case with some other traction products I have used. I'm a size 12 and the boots I've worn them on are non-insulated Cabela work boots and Merrell 400g insulated hiking boots (all leather, back when Merrell didn't make boots and sewed a few…

    Amazing Traction Aid!

I am particularly pleased with the ICETRekkers shoe chains which can be used as a general traction aid in icy conditions. I use them when clearing snow from my paved driveway and driveway and when walking a few blocks to a mailbox when the track is covered in snow and ice. I find ICETRekker's shoe chains offer good traction (except on particularly cold and slippery ice), easy to put on and take off, comfortable to wear and dry quickly. I also have a couple of Yaktrax Run traction aids. Yaktrax…

I'm shoveling snow in northern Idaho in the winter and completely destroyed a pair of cheap shoe chains that have wire wrapped around rubber.
