Mounts easily and does exactly what it is supposed to. I need another one but the supplier doesn't have it, I'll wait for others. IcyDock makes good products.

I was disappointed that the SSD had to be placed in the tray. I expected to just open the door and insert the SSD. The tray is uncomfortable. There is a "Disk" logo on the plastic cover of the optical drive, but it's certainly not a drive. Anyone think a fake logo is better than a real disc? The filler plate snaps into place, but not very securely.

According to another customer, the front panel mounting screws protrude into the tray area, causing the tray to catch, shorter screws solved this problem. And think of the front switch. On label is to the right of the switch which is in the off position until I stepped back and saw the entire on, on label. left, "Off" right once I've spotted my dummy bug. everything is working well.

I tried three of these before deciding on poor quality. When first installed it was a great combo, 2 drives and a thin DVD in a 5.25" bay. But the first two had one of the drive bays that failed, so they were returned and replaced. Now the third is out of service again. and this is the past return window. The product is well designed overall and has a pretty good build quality. I really like that I can use my old DVD drive for a laptop and get rid of the full size. Installing the optical drive was easy, all the screw holes matched perfectly. There's no power connector or SATA connector for the optical drive on the board, but they're completely unnecessary anyway. Simple power / SATA cable on the back of the ODD - that's all it takes.
