Description of IDICIA Line-ID
Our Wireless Flagging and LNP service is called Line Identification, or Line-ID. Line-ID tells you valuable information about the phone number that is calling you, or the phone number you are calling and is the result of a proprietary process combining discrete, authoritative information attributes from agents of the United States Federal Communication Commission (FCC) and the Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) and proprietary information maintained by PacificEast’s Research Department.
Our process combines these authoritative sources into a powerful tool to help you know important information like the phone number location and type which can help you stay in TCPA compliance. There is also a version of LIA that decodes international numbers, providing you with information about the phone number’s assigned location, the type of device (landline or wireless) and the telecommunications service provider.
Our Line-ID service looks up every US and Canadian number against authoritative porting information. That is important because if you use a low-grade service that only looks at the first 6 or 7 digits of the phone number you are going to get the wrong answer more than 20% of the time. The reason is that consumers can 'port' their phone number from one telephone company to another and most often when they do this, they port their old landline to a wireless provider. If you buy a product that doesn't take porting into consideration and you ask that product about a phone number that has been ported, it would tell you the wrong answer.
