They performed best in the kitchen & dining room category.

Although the microwave lid looks like a fairly basic product, for some reason many of the lids I've seen were made incorrectly. However, this one has all the balls tested: * large enough not to touch food in most cases * large enough to cover most standard plates and other dishes * dishwasher safe * has a few holes at the top for ventilation (but too small to be a filling question to deliver)

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Modern

This works well if you never intend to delete it.

It works well if you never want to take it out while the food is HOT. There is no SAFE place to take it with steam escaping from the vents. The surface is too slippery to grip and your fingers could be burned by the steam escaping from the top vents. I didn't send it back as I don't have a replacement at the moment. I will replace it soon.

Pros
  • Permanent test results
Cons
  • Available in white only

The best microwave lid you will find

Let me save you some trouble, these are the tallest domed microwave lids currently available from Revain. Look no further. Those are the ones you want. That's all. If you want to use a spatter lid when heating food in the microwave, buy one. You will be happy. At first glance they appear to have no grip, but for that they need a hem around the edge. Thumb under your lip, fingers in the middle, and you can easily lift it without risk of scalding yourself from the steam. The plastic feels aโ€ฆ

Excellent in every way.

I have literally searched for the perfect microwave lid for many years. I think I found it in this IKEA cover. Every other lid I've tried or looked at has been too shallow, typically 2 to 2.5 inches in functional depth (including depth typically lost due to finger or grip holes limiting interior space). This lid has an internal depth of 3 inches which is a huge improvement. The lid no longer rests directly on the food. It's a really disgusting necessity for most lids. The material is also first

A simple solution to a problem you didn't know about!

Reading all these comments is driving me crazy! I was happy to hear that it doesn't contain any substance that can kill you and cause cancer. But those who claim it's a waste of money because all they can do is "throw a paper towel at him," Hmmmmmm. Count how many paper towels you throw away in your lifetime, and also do you know any chemicals that are released to the treated paper in that paper towel? Think boys! many years ago! Think of all the spatter in the microwave I could have avoided! I

Ikea microwave lid saved my husband's life!

Ikea microwave lid saved my husband's life! Every time he heated something in the microwave, he left the food unprotected and his life was in imminent danger. Despite numerous attempts to teach him the art of covering food with paper towels so explosions of mashed potatoes or pasta would not result in the untimely and messy death of his food, he ate none of it. Covering with paper towels is truly a lost art, RIP With an Ikea microwave lid to cover food, my husband no longer feels his life is in

Melt in the microwave!

Let me start by saying that I love this device and have been using it successfully for several months without any problems. However, we recently tried cooking rice in the microwave and the instructions say 20 minutes. About 15 minutes later I returned to the room to check in and the kitchen and next part of the house was filled with very thick erratic smoke which was really nauseating. While we were able to rid the house of this smoke, there was an internal "stench" in the microwave that weโ€ฆ
