Light Duty is kind of Dooty

Not very heavy as advertised. I've used a lot of different bike hooks and these are pretty much the standard cheap hooks. It's hard to tell from the pictures, but the real heavy-duty steel ones are thicker in diameter and don't bend as easily. Next time I think I'll just pick up the real high-performance version at Walmart or Target so I can see exactly what I'm getting my hands on before I buy. Will still work for most bikes but not what I was looking for.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

You get what you pay for.

I don't know how they treated these things, but they look like someone tried to gnaw their teeth through the carvings. Haven't tried installing them yet but will be surprised if I can screw them on with those tight threads. I half expect things to snap in half once I start spinning them. The anchors are a joke and there were no instructions such as what size drill bit to use for the drywall anchors. They were so cheap it wasn't worth returning or exchanging, but in hindsight I wish I could just

Supports a closet rod under a sloping wall

These bike hooks were strong enough to support a 6 foot wide round log closet rod under a sloping wall. (Although the rod slid into the side brackets at both ends, it needed extra support to keep the distance, but none of the brackets made for this purpose worked as they have right angles that can only hang above flat ceilings.) Most other hooks were either not big enough, long enough, or strong enough to support the weight of the clothes. We used 2 hooks, each 1/3 of the way from the side…

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Doubtful
