512GB mSATA good price and performance

Using INDMEM 512GB mSATA for OS and application drives on an AMD A88X Windows Mini-ITX Media Center. Read speeds are as fast as the Samsung 128GB SSD it replaced. The write speed is significantly lower, but this is not noticeable in this case. I'm very happy with the price and performance of this mSATA drive, which is harder to find in 2020.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Hard to say

Exactly what I needed: data storage

It was the perfect device for my needs. I couldn't find a SATA 1.8 drive with this capacity, but it fits my adapter, which I also bought from Revain, and met my capacity needs for my laptop.

Pros
  • only positive
Cons
  • too stupid

Defective NEW or very used

I bought mSATA INDMEM 512GB to upgrade (clone) mSATA 128GB with CASPER 11. I installed it in the second internal mSATA slot. CASPER 11 launched, which crashed very quickly due to unspecified bugs. This mSATA unit was either NEW but defective, or used but excessively worn. Came back for a refund and bought a 512GB mSATA LEVEN unit. Installed in the second mSATA connector and cloned without errors.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Miscellaneous Other

Very good value drive

I bought this drive to install in an old IBM Thinkpad laptop with no SATA ports using an IDE MSATA adapter. Once I figured out how to properly install the adapter and found an OS that worked with this old laptop, everything went fine. The speed improvement over the old IDE hard drive is impressive. The price also seems good. I would recommend this as part of your setup if trying a similar project or if you just need a basic MSATA drive.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • I have doubts

Ideal for Tesla Sentry Mode and Tesla Dash Cam!

I'm being completely honest. I used a $9 32GB USB stick for Sentry mode on my Tesla and Tesla dashcam before the flash drive couldn't keep up with the read/write speeds (about 3 weeks) . After scouring the internet and reading (pretty ridiculous) lengths of people formatting NTFS drives into multiple FAT-32 partitions, I settled on a 32GB mSATA drive that plugged into an mSATA to USB adapter was connected. That's it, simple, efficient and without formatting problems as FAT-32 has a maximum size

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • I don't like anything about it, everything is fine
