Description of 🌡️ Inkbird ITC-106VH AC 100-240V PID Temperature Controllers with F and C K Sensor, 25DA SSR Solid State Relay – Ideal for Sous Vide and Home Brewing

Support reading with Centigrade or Fahrenheit unit.It is more suitable for setups with water cycle. If the device does not have water cycle, the ITC-100 series is recommended. Dual display window, be able to display measured temperature and set temperature at the same time. Simplify operational processes and you don't need to operate more steps if you want to set the definite value. High accuracy of displaying and controlling. Manual and Auto turning are available. Power Consumption: Approx. 5VA(100~240VAC).

Runs away when it's hot.

So you get what you pay for. The PID itself isn't bad, but the weakness lies in the relay. When the relay gets hot it tends to stick connection giving you the effect of overclocking whatever you have connected to it. Replace the relay with one with a higher temperature and you'll be fine.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Lots of accessories

Excellent value for money in testing, measuring and verifying

I bought this to control my heat treating furnace to replace the controller I bought 20 years ago. I already had a type J thermocouple but it comes with a type K thermocouple. It works great with both. Many of these controllers don't read F, this one reads F or C. It's hard to believe how well it works and how cheap it is.

Pros
  • Got it!
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Works, instructions won't do if you don't know about PID.

It seems to work fine, a few degrees up. I'm trying to figure out how to calibrate it but the instructions aren't very helpful. Once I figure out how to calibrate I will provide an update. I figured it out, that's called calibration, autotuning, and that's a function with a choice of PID mode.

They don't work properly

So before I bought this unit, ITC-106vh, I used their previous model, ITC-100vh, and had no problems. I have bought two 106's twice, that's 4 units from two different sellers and neither of them could handle the temperature I set after auto configuring the unit. However, I ordered a couple of new ITC-100's and once set up they worked flawlessly straight away. I would prefer a 100% reliable product to one that can display temperatures in both Celsius and Fahrenheit. It's not worth it.

Pros
  • Very impressive

  • boring packaging

Unstable PID controller - buy IKBIRD ITC-100VH instead

I bought this controller because on paper it corresponds to the IKBIRD ITC-100VH. This controller is unable to provide an accurate control process, particularly with regard to the output duty cycle. It doesn't have the ability to set a minimum/maximum duty cycle like many other INKBIRD PID controllers do. If you have a very small heater or other system that can run with the load on at 100% duty for an extended period of time then this will work fine. Even with auto-tuning and manual tuning…

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Exorbitant price

Poor thermocouple quality control.

The three star rating isn't because of the PID, it's very good and works great. However, the thermocouple that comes with this device seems to be a problem for many. The one that came with my device worked perfectly the first day, and then it all went down the drain. The second day when I turned on the PID, the temperature readings were scattered all over the place. The wiggling of the thermocouple wires where they connected to the PID changed the temperature several hundred degrees. Upon…

Not bad - could use a better relay

I use this product to control two 120 watt cartridge heaters. I've tried using autotuning but the results aren't very good. Instead, I continued with the manual process of setting the options. A search or two on the internet will find a lot of information about it. The reason I deducted a star is that while the relay works, it is not very well designed. The bottom plate of the relay (which should be in contact with the heatsink) is plastic as far as I can tell. It cuts too easily and the…

Pros
  • Temperature and humidity
Cons
  • Slightly dented

Unstable PID controller - buy INKBIRD ITC-100VH

I bought this controller because on paper it matches the ITC-100VH INKBIRD. This controller cannot provide accurate process control, especially in terms of output duty cycle. It doesn't have the ability to set a minimum/maximum duty cycle like many other INKBIRD PID controllers do. If you have a very small heater or other system that can sustain a 100% duty cycle load for an extended period of time then this will work well. Even with auto-tuning and manual tuning, there was no way to limit the…
