what was i thinking

First of all, this will be a quick and concise review to the point. Audiophiles KEEP SEPARATE. The device is so cheaply made and overall just cheap. The wire is 1 mm thin. There is no protection against radio interference. Finally, I did an A vs B comparison with Dragonfly Red on my Samsung Galaxy Tab S4. No, just no. I'm all for saving money, don't get me wrong. The problem is that this device just can't keep up with my other connections. It seems absurd now, I paid $200 for Dragonfly Red not…

Helps me with my "old man ears "

My wife's hearing is better than mine so it takes some coordination to find a volume that is comfortable for both of us and that I don't have to resort to Turn on subtitles. My TV only has a stereo line out instead of an adjustable headphone out, so the volume needs to be turned down a bit to keep my hearing from deteriorating. The built-in volume cable serves its purpose and keeps the volume at a comfortable level. The cable is flimsy and the overall design may not stand the test of time, but…

  • Expensive but decent

After 1 year of use I am delighted.

I use them to control the volume from the TV to the headphones. In particular, I use a slider to "decrease" the volume coming from the TV ("fixed audio"). Volume and sound quality are good. But the build quality is questionable. The "strain relief" on both ends is very weak and I know they will eventually give way to internal wiring. Also, plastic-coated wire is very thin and fragile. UPDATE: July 2020 (2 -> 4 stars). ) More than 6 months later and after some "roughness" I'm surprised at how

Works great for its intended purpose.

I bought this as a solution to controlling the input volume on a Tascam DR-05 portable recorder that was having distortion problems at high input levels. I was planning to use this cable to reduce the input volume of the device (essentially a cheap built in volume control device). I'm happy to say that this works PERFECTLY for the task. As others have cited the lack of durability, my first change to this cable would be to wrap it in either tape or some sort of wire wrap to give it more strength

Works perfectly! best in ear headphones

I have very poor hearing but live in an apartment so I can't turn up the TV volume without disturbing the neighbors so headphones are required. After trying several pairs of wireless earbuds over a few years, I'm tired of spending more money on inferior products that don't last long. While wireless ones are much more convenient, if they don't last very long, they're not worth it. So I resigned myself to using wired headphones, only my existing headphones didn't have volume controls and the TV…

An almost perfect but very useful accessory

This built in volume control comes in a small thin plastic bag. It is made in China. The device, jack and plug are TRS so I cannot comment on performance with specific TRRS based headphones, headphones, smartphones and tablets. However, TRRS to TRS adapters (and vice versa) are readily available. Your application is simple and clear. Connect the headphone with TRS cable to volume control jack and volume control plug to your MP3 player, CD player, recorder or phone. Unlike the mainstream brand's

Nice but flimsy headphones

I've used these with my "JVC HAS160R Flat Headphones" purchased here from Revain while listening on my laptop. It works well, and it's a relief to be able to adjust the volume every time the video volume changes without using a mouse. My only complaint isn't really a complaint, just a word of caution: this adapter has a very lightweight design. The wire is anywhere from 22 to 24 gauge, and the little steering wheel is so flimsy that it's difficult to hold except between the tips of two fingers…
