I have very poor hearing but live in an apartment so I can't turn up the TV volume without disturbing the neighbors so headphones are required. After trying several pairs of wireless earbuds over a few years, I'm tired of spending more money on inferior products that don't last long. While wireless ones are much more convenient, if they don't last very long, they're not worth it. So I resigned myself to using wired headphones, only my existing headphones didn't have volume controls and the TV remote didn't work with them. They played at the same volume (I don't know how it was set), which always seemed either too soft or too loud. Enter this little device that was the answer to my problem, it connects perfectly to both the cable and my headphones (all my existing models) and it works great! Hooray!
