Description of Enhance Your Car's Power System with InstallGear 4 Gauge True Spec Power/Ground Wire – 25ft Blue & 25ft Black Soft Touch Cable

25-FEET (7.62m) [ 25FT BLUE + 25FT BLACK 4 GAUGE POWER/GROUND WIRE ] - The lower the gauge number, the thicker the wire. Thicker wire presents less resistance to current flow. COPPER CLAD ALUMINUM (CCA) - CCA wiring provides a good conductor for power transfer. This is the most economical option when choosing power or ground wire. Systems that require more power should consider OFC wiring. RUGGED PVC JACKET - Allows free, wide and seamless adjustment of the required physical properties of this wire such as flexibility, elasticity, and impact resistance. EASY POLARITY IDENTIFICATION - This two color jacket allows for easy polarity identification. Making a polarity mistake could be damaging to your audio equipment. SOFT TOUCH JACKET - The jacket on our cable is designed with the installer in mind. The flexibility of this jacket allows for easy routing and has a low memory.

NEVER AGAIN! best in amp installation

wire purchased made a huge installation in a friends van. The van is always in the garage, never seen rain or snow. I drove halfway to Texas where the generator and battery exploded. Both blew up the generator and battery the next day. After breaking it, I found that the wire (from the side of the earth) had literally turned to powder. $1,500 in pipes. I've been doing car audio for 25 years, I've NEVER seen anything like it. Just a crappy wire. LESSON LEARNED BY THE WAY, it was the three wires…

Cons
  • Slightly snapped

NEVER AGAIN! - amplifier installation

purchased wire made a huge installation in a friends van. The van is always in the garage, never seen rain or snow. I drove halfway to Texas where the generator and battery exploded. Tag blew up the generator and battery. I ripped it apart and found that the wire (from the bottom side) literally turned to powder. $1,500 in pipes. I've been doing car audio for 25 years, I've NEVER seen anything like it. . LESSONS BY THE WAY, there were three mistakes. Not only one

True 8 gauge cable! in Automotive Electronics Accessories

I've found that some of the cheaper installation 'kits' come with wires advertised as 8 gauge wire, but if you can actually get them, you'll find them something like 14 gauge wire. with lots of thick insulation. This wire is 8 gauge thin copper wire with good insulation. It is easy to use, behaves very well and seems to meet the advertised specifications. I installed an aftermarket subwoofer/woofer combo in my new car in addition to the existing factory radio which is pretty good on its own…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • New competitors appeared

I ran the InstallGear cable from the battery to the amp in my car. After about 18 months the plastic insulation (housing, whatever) broke at various exposed spots in the engine compartment exposing the copper conductor. I have no idea why the case failed - I suspect the plastics just don't hold up well to the heat/time in the car's environment. The sheathing of the exposed cable in the trunk appears intact, and presumably the same goes for the patches hidden under the carpet inside the cabin…

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Great Price

Just what I needed for car electronics accessories

Good deal I just want a little help with the wire size really needed, all car radios will tell you to use 4 gauge or larger for my 750 and amp rated should choose from 1200 watts. And I installed the 4th gauge first, and it seemed inconvenient to install and hide it. But the wires were always freezing, so I know they weren't stressed at all. I then researched further on the metric needed for the number of watts used and found this out by reading the work of two different engineers - real geeks…

Pros
  • Lots of good vibes
Cons
  • No wattage
