This light is just what I needed in my garage. However, the light currently used is connected to a garage door opener and thus competes with daylight through an open door. Another lamp has 3 exits horizontally to the ceiling. When time permits, it will be replaced with a single downward facing socket and the LED light will be moved and operated with a wall switch.

***No one has tested how long these LEDs actually last*** Bought two of these for my garage and one works and the other broke after 10 months of very light use. Update 11 months after buying the second one it also stopped working. These things take 50,000 hours. That's 2083 days (5.7 years) of continuous use, I probably had 350 hours (maximum) before they broke. Oh, and there's no way to contact the company or any guarantee. LOOK ELSEWHERE.

Bought 2 in October, the 1st went out at the end of March and the 2nd yesterday. Garage not unnecessary, easy use. This is not a workshop. It's going to be hot so I wouldn't blame the crazy cold weather for that. For what they were worth, I was hoping for at least a few years' rent. The light is very bright. I put it in a dark corner of my basement and it really lit up the place. It's a white for the day, not the warm yellow you're used to from the bedroom or living room. This light made a HUGE difference. I bought 2 because we have 2 headlights in the garage but probably only one and one of the standard bulbs could be used.
