Extremely finicky then stopped working

I have had this switch for a few months and it has never worked properly. The first thing I noticed was how slow it shifts. Switching between computers can take more than 5 seconds. Much slower than I expected. But the main thing is that this thing is so fragile that it cannot be made to work and continue to function. For example, I often only have one computer connected (I connect the second one half the time). It often gets stuck on the wrong exit and the shift key doesn't work. To do this, I

Pros
  • Molded cable design makes it easy to connect
Cons
  • Compatibility

Simply amazing for computers and accessories

After reading the reviews I was quite worried, so I prepared in advance to replace the switch that everyone was complaining about, I was also afraid that the switch didn't work well with OSX/Win10 Well, although I'm a fan of the mechanical switch, I found the switch workable and decided to use it for now. Eventually I'll move one of the LEDs to the switch and install a mechanical switch there, Cherry MX, so I can tell things apart too, but not now as the switch was 100% permanent for me. Both…

Pros
  • Port focus LEDs for active computers
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Add external power supply to avoid instability

Recently my Evoluent mouse was having trouble connecting to my computer for some reason. I've tried plugging/unplugging every other device on the hub to see if there is a hardware conflict. But I never found the right combination. Then I read a random line in a comment on a similar product about possible power issues with some USB devices. I have a gaming keyboard with wavy lights, so I suspect this had a big impact on the hub's performance. As soon as I added an external 5V USB power supply…

Pros
  • USB 2.0 compatible, supports transfer rates up to 480Mbps
Cons

Unreliable product for computers and accessories

I bought this switch to make it easy to switch my keyboard, mouse and camera between my PC and MacBook. The external switch knob was ideal because it allowed me to use nano tape to mount the switch and knob under the table (the knob was next to the controls on the table). Using standard USB-C also helped a lot as other (less expensive) switches didn't work properly with my MacBook. Unfortunately, this switch also has a serious problem - it expects both computers to be powered on, otherwise it…

Pros
  • Easily switch to any of the connected computers with the push of a button
Cons
  • Expensive

*** MAKE SURE YOU PLUG IN THE POWER SUPPLY. ****** MAKE SURE YOU DISCONNECT USB Lenovo p1 laptop and gaming desktop (ASUS motherboard). Connection cable: - I use 2 cables Apple MacBook Pro 2 meters Type C - Type C. Power supply: - Type-C cable included - Apple Type-C charger. Mouse: both Logitech RGB devices First initialization: The first time the device took a few seconds to recognize the connected devices once everything was loaded in the operating system. I let the operating system see…

Pros
  • Over Current Protection
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Great product for your purposes. Allows sharing of up to 4 USB devices between 2 computers. If like me you are using a KVM switch with PS2 connectors but have a monitor with multiple inputs like DVI (DisplayPort, HDMI, VGA) you can throw away the KVM, use the monitor to switch inputs and use that USB . Mouse and keyboard switches. I usually leave one computer running 24/7 and turn on the other when needed. I've found that when you need to switch inputs to a computer that isn't running, it's…

Pros
  • Charge mobile devices such as smartphones from any USB device port
Cons
  • Some bugs

Works well but design has awkward cabling

This thing works great, at least for me. I connected a wired keyboard and wireless mouse to it and now I can tidy my desk while I work on both my work laptop and my home computer. It's a great alternative to mouse and keyboard sharing software like Synergy (which I can't use with VPN) and definitely a big step up from KVM switches, which are overkill for easy peripheral sharing at home. It was plug and play. I just plugged it in, let Windows install the drivers, and within a minute I'm typing…

Pros
  • Allows two computers to share up to 4 USB peripherals, more can be supported by adding USB hubs
Cons
  • No power
