📻 iRV Technology IRV31: High-Quality 2.1 Channel Surround RV Radio Stereo with AM/FM/CD/DVD, 2 Zones, and Wallmount Receiver – 5" Display Review

I know you get what you pay for but I had to replace the radio in my RV until I got a new RV. Pro:PriceEasy installCon:Display sucks! You have to be at eye level to see what's on screen, a real bummer. Only one audio input for TV, Sirius etc. I had to use an audio splitter to play audio from my TV or Sirius radio. There's a big crap here too. If I didn't sell my motorhome, it would go to the workshop.

I was sent a receiver that someone else wanted to install. Most of the protective plastic has been removed and everything is scratched! The sound quality is terrible, the USB only charges and doesn't play music, installation is tricky and you need a certain sized hole or, I had to, a bracket. I would just send it back but I need it for a trip in two days. Very disappointed, I would look elsewhere.

If you have a 2017 Microlite it will fit the hole perfectly but will need refitting as the new unit has different plugs on the back. It was easy for me to rewire as both new and old have schematics so I cut and spliced easily. The only real difference was a new block of 2 power supplies like a car radio, one 12v constant, the other 12v switched. I only assembled them as the camper doesn't have an ignition switch.

I installed the radio on 07/06/2018. Everything works as it should. I've used HDMI out, RCA audio in, Bluetooth audio, AM/FM with no issues or complications. I like the dedicated buttons for speaker 1/2 as they change color when this speaker set is active, very easy to use. The instruction manual is a bit spartan, but if you've used digital radio for the last 10 years you shouldn't have any problems.

This was a good upgrade for my storage unit. Installed in GD Imagine XLS 21BHE. The connection was pretty easy. I installed a switch on the ACC cord that allows me to turn it off completely at night. Dual zone is a plus. The only downside (so far) I don't think the HDMI port on the front is very convenient for my needs. Two in the back would be better. Replaced irv29 with this device because the device that was installed in my RV didn't have a dvd player. The dimensions varied but it was easy to install by cutting the wood to fit the larger irv31.
