We bought this to update our dining room. I originally burned at the same height as our previous light, but the bulbs exposed to it were too bright in your face. This was easy to adjust with shorter bars. I'm not an electrician, but nothing complicated. The hardest part for me was distinguishing between a round smooth wire and a ribbed one as my eyes aren't the same as they used to be. Very happy with the purchase.

Lighting is more important than form than function. Suspended from the ceiling it looks great but emits very little light from below. We have it above the kitchen table. The bulbs are very bright but all the light goes straight up to the ceiling and not on the table. We are having lunch and literally need flashlights to see. We're not old either. Very disappointed.

The description says it is suitable for sloping ceilings but not in all cases. This fixture has two downward sloping poles with little or no built in adjustment to balance the light. So if you try to hang this from a ceiling that's sloped in the same direction as the light fixture, it'll hang at an angle. We liked this jig and tried to find ways to align it but couldn't. Added chain links and it was either too much or too little. I had to send the instrument back.

We were looking for a new lamp for our kitchen table. The carpenter who installed it said some of the holes drilled were uneven which caused the light to be crooked. As soon as we hung it up, we were very disappointed with the shadows it cast on the table. (Light in some places and dark in others.) We believe the shadows are caused by the bulbs pointing upwards. We will be returning it as it was poorly made and caused uneven lighting.
