Didn't work for me!

This iron filter was very expensive and didn't suit us. Ever since we moved into our house in rural East Texas. We struggle with iron stains in toilets and near sink drains. I have a whole house filter, a water softener, and then I added this iron filter. THAT DOES NOT WORK. I wish someone would tell me at the beginning that ALL TO FIX THE RIFLE IS THE CHLORINATOR AND THE FILTER POST THE CHLORINATOR! YOU HAVE BEEN TOLD!

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Savings box price

Lab Proven to do almost nothing!

This filter does not work as advertised. I was ready for an updated lab water test so I checked before and after filtration. The filter was 2 months old and passed several thousand gallons. My pig iron level was 1.5ppm before filtering and 1ppm after. My manganese was 0.25ppm before and 0.25ppm after, so not very good results. $80 wasted. I called to complain but Ispring has no phone service. When I get it I'll open it up and see what's inside. Probably sand. Damn

Pros
  • A dream comes true
Cons
  • Something is wrong

Works well easy to change

I've had this for a few years now after a terrible problem with manganese in our well water. Price for an iron switch but it was too expensive. These are just tickets. I have an iron manganese filter along with a carbon filter. Where we notice it most is in our toilets. You stay much cleaner with a fresh filter. When they start turning brown it's time to change them, usually about every 9 or 10 months. Great customer service and Revain has the best prices and direct from the manufacturer.

Pros
  • Brilliantly made
Cons
  • Infuriates

Recently installed. 8000 gallons later brown pool disaster

This is the second filter I have bought. I installed the first and ran water through it, but only to check for leaks. It stood for a year and when I was finally able to install the new pool I filled about 12 inches of water and decided to test if I had iron in the water by throwing a shock in the water. After a few minutes it turned brown. I felt that when I ran water through the filter a year ago the filter was activated and its effectiveness has probably greatly diminished by now, so I bought

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • No insurance

Removes mold due to iron and manganese in water

I upgraded this filter and iSpring housing to my current whole house water filtration system. My system was doing an excellent job of removing solids and chlorine from my public water prior to installing the FM25B, but was exacerbating mold growth in sink drains, faucet aerators and showerheads due to the lack of chlorine. After reading about this phenomenon, I found that the culprits are the residual levels of iron and manganese in the water which, along with the lack of chlorine to counteract

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • No instructions
