Overall we were very happy with this product until the lid wouldn't open when touched with a hand. Pressing the open button again finally opens the lid, but it's annoying, especially when you're holding something to throw. It would help if the company made these lids more durable as this is an innovation in these bins and that's why I paid a lot of money.

So far so good, only a few months have passed. I definitely recommend the PSU as sometimes it just pops open as you walk past. It doesn't look like it holds that much but I think its shape is deceiving, we live in a family of two and I empty it about once a week. It says it's brushed stainless steel, but I had to buy a stainless steel cleaner, which doesn't protect against fingerprints. In general I recommend!

I paid $70.83 for it just to BREAK the cap less than a year of ownership. I contacted customer service and they sent me to a replacement site where I could get a replacement cap for $50. My husband took it apart and found that the lever that lifts the lid is a SMALL PIECE OF PLASTIC. We really liked this tin in the short time we've had it. So very disappointing! Also very disappointed that their customer service seemed fed up with our issues. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY.

Great. Works as expected and looks good. I bought the electric version and it's good. Also works well with batteries. Sacks are filled exactly where you want them to be. Not too full and not too empty. I had to remember that this isn't a motion sensor, it's a beam that opens it, so it's best to get your hand on it without waving it around. I loved it for a year while it worked. After changing the battery the opening/closing has stopped and yes I have checked that the new batteries are ok. I've tried the proprietary calibration on the lid to no avail. Unlucky tourist, because now I have to buy a new trash can.
