I wish it was a bit thicker as I was very surprised by its thinness. I don't think I would leave my iron on this pillow if I was going to be sewing for an extended period between ironing sessions. But when I'm ironing a lot of things at the same time, this rug does the job perfectly.

Now my iron and other hot tools have a home when in use. This silicone pad keeps hot tools in a safe and stable place. It is also recommended to use additional protection under this seal. I prefer silicone to a metal stand to avoid scratching the instruments.

So I have a hard time forcing my brain to put the hot part of the iron on anything. Sometimes I have to laugh at myself. But I need somewhere to put it so the kid doesn't rip it off my wobbly ironing board while it's hot. It worked perfectly. I still unplugged the iron because I was done or stepping aside, but it was still hot.

I am very disappointed with this mat, I was hoping I could put my iron on it to keep the iron hot. When I tried this, the mat got very hot and there was a small burn mark on the ironing surface. I guess I should have known this was going to happen. Not sure what this is for, my iron stands perfectly upright, no mat needed.

I've used a bottom shape iron but it never gave me the stability I needed. The rectangular shape provides this stability and relieves my wrist and hand from a lot of strain and pain. Haven't used it yet but planning for today but I have a lot of experience with things not working effectively. I want to spend a lot of time making it easier and safer to use.

Very happy with it. It's nice and thick, big, seems very heat resistant, perfect place to put the hot iron down when waiting to be used. (I keep my iron upright, never leave it face down.) I can't fit an ironing board in my small sewing room, so I use a long ironing pad on the closet for extra protection of the iron. rest. The color is nice too.
