Very important; Operation requires force where PEX access is inconvenient

This kit offers amazing value for money. The only problem is that it requires significant upper body strength to function properly. It's nice when the PEX you're working on is within easy reach, but it can get tricky when access isn't convenient. So I appreciate the notion of powered PEX expanders (which exist), but I don't need to use Type A PEXs often, so I can't justify the cost of a powered expander.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Minor issues

Should last a lifetime

I ordered this rather than buying more expensive tools for the job. The price seems high for what you get and of course there is a lot of profit built into this 4 pack product. Now that I have it I'm ready if I ever need it again - only need it for 1 small task and can't rent it around town. Also, this isn't the right tool if you're working with PEX pipes when building an entire house. since it is a manual process that requires many days of use.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Security

READ THIS BEFORE USE!

Tool works great but I've learned a thing or two about Pex A in general. You MUST rotate the tool as you expand the pipe. If you leave the tool in the same position and keep inserting it as it expands, it will leave burrs in the pipe and you will get leaks. There will never be enough left to seal completely. I learned to swing, then twist a little, swing again, twist, etc. You don't have to make a circle, but don't let the gaps stay in the same place the whole time.

excellent tool in pipes, fittings and accessories

Excellent tool, well finished and very strong. Absolutely no complaints about this thing. I've been using it for a few weeks now and have made about 50 connections. It worked perfectly. I've only used it for the 1/2" size so far. It's a bit tricky to use in a small space sometimes, but that's to be expected. You also need to remember to rotate the tool a little each time you expand, to smooth the expansion..This is a great alternative to the Milwaukee electric tool for small jobs.Very happyโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Dope ๐Ÿ”ฅ
Cons
  • There are nuances

This will expand your propoex. what more do you want.

When you open it, do you think I paid $180 for it? Seems cool when you just need a few fittings and you're done, but worth it when you're doing the whole house. I did a remod with just a few connections. One of my ports was in a gap and was very difficult to reach. It was very difficult to use 3/4 gyros in such a limited space and arm length, but after a few minutes and rest, I completely pulled it off. Except that all other connections were light and very light. Moral of the story: expect this

Pros
  • Easy install
Cons
  • Hard to tell

I had a leaking outer window sill hose and inner seal (30 years later). My plumber called me for FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS to fix/replace it. After purchasing everything I needed to DIY I saved over $300 and now have the tools to do so much more. OF COURSE, you will have to rotate the head in the PEX-A pipe after each expansion (read the instructions!). You know what moves.โ€ YOU ARE WALKING THE PATH of the wall and move OUTSIDE rather than working INSIDE the wall. This gives you room to manipulateโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • A few small things
