I bought this hat for my 11 month old son. He was born with a port wine birthmark on his face that we whitened with laser therapy. We must be very careful to keep his treated mole out of the sun to avoid skin discoloration. This hat did a great job of protecting us from the sun. The brims are wide enough to keep the sun off his entire face, but hard enough not to catch his eyes. The material is cool and doesn't scratch.
