I have a 200 mod and it has a huge range of stitches to choose from. Oh god, so many. Then there are letters. which I thought would be super hard and it just isn't. You program the letters of the name you want the sewing machine to make, then press the pedal all the way down and you're done. The car is amazing, reliable and quiet. This is the first sewing machine I've ever bought and the first non-crappy one I've used.

This is a fantastic economical computer controlled sewing machine. There is nothing better than the Janome MOD-50. I don't think this machine is recommended for beginners, but more for intermediate/intermediate seamstresses. I recommend a Janome mechanical model for a first machine or beginner, like the Janome 2206 or 2212. But sometimes it's helpful to hear how simple or complex a sewing machine is for those who aren't familiar with all of the features.
