Makes free motion quilting less scary

I recently bought this to fit my Janome DC2013 sewing machine. I'm relatively new to quilting, but after watching countless tutorial videos on YouTube I felt ready to try free motion quilting. After some initial experimentation, I tackled my first major project, a double size quilt. It took a few minutes and a few tries, but I soon started sewing. Love the open/closed toe options and how easily the foot attaches to my machine. As other reviewers have said, I wish the foot came withโ€ฆ

What I wanted

Thanks to other Revain reviewers I knew this was what I was looking for. I bought it for my Janome MC6300P which I also bought from Revain a few years ago. i love this car Important to know: I bought the low shank model because my car has it. This is a floating quilting foot, not the jumping darning foot that comes with most new machines. That's good - we don't like it when there's a bouncing motion. Don't throw away the box - there are instructions inside. The bobber adjusts with a screw onโ€ฆ

Superb Free Motion Foot

I'm a fan of Leah Day and tried her suggestion of attaching the plastic loop to the underside of the darning foot that came with my Janome MO200 (aka MC5200) machine and bending it. Hand and wrap the rubber band around the top spring. I've had moderate success with this - in fact the stitching was actually better than the standard foot - but the elastic would often slip, requiring me to remove the foot and readjust the elastic while the foot was still bouncing. a little.
