It was a complete fabrication. he said it was wood with brass rings. Well I have pottery with painted rings that look really cheap.

I'm sorry it has so many bad reviews. I've been using my Oke for over a year and it has really changed my bathing experience at home! Perfect if you don't want to take a long shower before a hot bath in summer or if you want to cool off quickly before going to bed. I also use it to hold hot water for my towel when I shave. It still smells like hinoki when I add hot water. Be sure to use it regularly, otherwise the wood shrinkage will cause the copper bands to come off!

I liked it at first but after 35 days the ring at the bottom came loose... such a shame something made for a wet area wouldn't last in a wet area

This water bucket is exactly what I wanted, real hinoki wood and copper rings. It smells so good and brings some Japanese hot springs into your home.

I bought this to fill with clean water while taking a bath to wash my face with water. It's well constructed and holds enough water to wash your face and the water stays warm. Dry overnight in an air-conditioned home. A good buy!
