Worked like a charm to take the router apart

Great cable, 4 single pin connectors on the end. No documentation is included, just the cable. 1 star for that. There should have been at least a piece of paper to send you to the drivers website. Regarding the connections, the black wire seems to be solidly grounded and the red +5v, in my case white and green were 3.3v RX and TX respectively. but they seem to differ depending on which is which. Pro: - Inexpensive. Broad OS support for less than $10. PL2303 is supported by most major operating systems. Can be set to v5 or v3.3 output power. The PL2303 has a built-in DC/DC converter. The converter works reliably. Cons: - Average fit and finish. The converter housing is easy to dismantle and the circuit board assembly is sufficient. Mechanically unreliable. The shield around the USB connector is not soldered, so repeated use may damage the part. Attention:! Open the converter case and…

RPI2 RPI2 Rogue Serial Console Adapter is supported by FreeBSD. One caveat: the red +5 volt wire on the USB side, which probably shouldn't be used with the RPI2. Update 6/7/16 Out of the four cables I purchased, it looks like at least one is no longer recognized as a USB device. All four worked when purchased, but at least one and possibly two stopped working. Updated 06/11/16. The two "non-working" cables have been tested with the Prolific drivers on OS X Macintosh. Both were recognized. When…
