Love this tool, good for yarn and floss

I have been working with beads for 50 years and I can say this is the most useful Fireline and Nymo tool I have ever used. GREAT TOOL. The only thing I would like is for the ON button to have a slide to keep the tool activated for large projects. I've found that a band-aid wrapped around it does the same thing.

Ideal for delicate and clean surfaces!

This is a good tool for more beautiful projects when you want a nice finished product! when I'm done sewing!

The battery is NOT included.

I like how it works. I have to get used to using it - getting close enough to the thread but not too close. Luckily I had a battery at home. I would be very disappointed if I had to go to the store to buy a battery to try it out, especially as I'm trying to stay as isolated as possible.

Pros
  • Well done
Cons
  • Sad packaging

Perfect tool for beadwork

Bought this along with two spare heads for my mum for Mother's Day. It came looking for a "pearl gift" and seems like an ingenious tool. While I don't plan on using it myself, both the zip closure and interchangeable heads feel very durable - I'm sure my mum will love this as she is an avid bead embroiderer. Both products arrived in perfect condition. The zapper runs on one AA battery, which is not included.

Works great with thick thread

I've used these with thick nylon and polyester thread for sewing leather and they work great. It heats up quickly and easily wraps the thread ends close to my work. It seems like a pretty basic design so it's a bit overpriced in my opinion. The only issue I had was the tip of the device fell out when I first picked it up. I fixed this easily by gently spreading the handpiece's legs apart before reinserting them into the instrument's body.

Cons

Two hits on this one

I ordered this once and the button to open the zipper didn't fit. I had to select it and couldn't tell if it was on or off. The button didn't go down either. I figured it might just be a defective item and ordered a replacement. It fell apart before I could even use it. The wire clasp fell off and when I pushed the button the top part detached from the bottom and wouldn't screw back on. The wire lock goes in but it doesn't stay.

Pros
  • Sew
Cons
  • The cord is shorter than the others
