Lens hood is better than the original Fuji lens hood

We took them to see how they would work with the Fuji X100F. Surprisingly, I like it more than Fuji's own hood. I was initially concerned that this JJC lens hood might cause vignetting. It is not. Not only does the lens hood not expand like the original Fuji lens hood, it makes the camera more compact and protects the lens quite well. Highly recommended.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Ratio set

New design - works great!

I lost my previous JJC hood while on holiday. It was the traditional flared form with a bayonet lug. I was concerned that the new design might cause vignetting, but I was wrong. All diaphragms are OK. I also thought I wouldn't like the screw mount as opposed to the traditional bayonet mount - wrong again. The screw cap holds the thing. The BONUS is the extra lens protection, especially if you don't want to use a filter.

Pros
  • Positives only
Cons
  • Update available

Better than a bonnet on display

This was a big improvement on my X100T! It fits perfectly and effectively eliminates the need for a lens cap because it protects the lens so well. You would have to intentionally stick your finger in the lens hood to get a fingerprint there. That looks good too. I'm very glad I ordered this item in place of the more commonly recommended "extended" lens hood. After using this hood I'm not sure why they make another hood at all.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Quality

Doesn't work with X100V OEM lens cap!

The quality of this hood is so-so compared to Haoge's ultra-thin cap (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01DNL2S98/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_8twyEbQKV7VKZ) which looks much nicer overall and has knurling on the hood that matches the X100V. Like Haoge's ultra-thin lens hood, this JJC lens hood will not work with the X100V's OEM lens cap. I have purchased FOTOMIX LC-FX100 (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07663LJBQ/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_HvwyEb935EB6J) and can confirm that it works great with both JJC and Haoge.

Pros
  • Same as everything before
Cons
  • No insurance

Good for the price, the filter is also hidden in the hood.

Simple and uncomplicated, not a bad product for the price. That's the cool thing about it, which I like. Of course, any 49mm filter can be screwed onto the supplied adapter ring. . BUT the hood itself is bolted to the adapter ring itself. This means that the filter is not physically visible and is hidden within the hood itself. So even with the filter on, it looks exactly like what you see in the image here. The only downside is that if dust/dirt gets in. You won't notice it, or you'll have to…

Pros
  • Makes you happy
Cons
  • New competitors have appeared
