Easiest repair I've done in a long time

What a simple fix, take out the old pump and put in the new one. There is no need to replace hoses, fittings or anything else. Connecting the electrical wires was a hassle, but with a pair of waterproof connectors, it didn't take long at all.

  • One year trial

Impeller not exactly the same size

Replaced with this one last month. It seems to me that the impeller is slightly larger than the original, so when the float switch is turned on, the impeller doesn't spin because it gets stuck on the housing. It's probably easy to fix this by just making the case bigger, but I didn't bother with the case. I decided to replace the entire system as the float switch was not working properly.

I think I got the right one though.

The engine that came to me has no model number. on it and the possible model numbers listed in the manual do not match my old pump. The one in the photo has the same model number. They look the same so I hope there will be no problem fitting the motor into the base. There is also confusion in the list of models and sizes of fuses. The box says 5 amps so I'll go with that, but the manual doesn't list the closest model. says 3 amps which I think could be for 500 gph.

Pros
  • An absolute legend

Need an extra part. on Water Pumps & Accessories

Great company to deal with. I have a rather unusual location for my 500 GPM aerator pump. I contacted Johnson for the necessary details. A few weeks later I received the parts in the mail. No hassle, no extra effort was required to get exactly what I needed. I recently had to replace a part on a company's bucket aerator. They said they are made in China and you need to buy new ones. It is a pleasure to work with a company that wants to help a customer solve a problem. From now on it will be the

Definitely not 750 beats per hour.

These may be brand new units and look great, but they will NOT pump the full 750 gallons per hour. I bought three of these to upgrade all my pumps. One pump froze, one was noisy and the third was fine. But I've decided that if I replace two, all three will be done, leaving the old one as a backup. When the life well in the boat was first filled the water flow was about 1/3 what it was before and when water was pumped out of the boat it barely came out of the nozzle while the old was shooting…

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Expensive

Not worth the extra money Same flow rate as 500GPH cartridge

I needed to replace the cartridge in my Johnson bilge pump. I have had very good luck with these cartridges over the years. They are much easier to replace than the entire bilge pump assembly should you ever fail. The only reason this pump failed was because it was not being used. My shaft is frozen. If you lubricate the shaft with silicone and turn it on every time. and then they last a long time. I looked at Revain and saw that there were two replacement pumps, one for 500gph like my original
