⚙️ JR Products 12005 White Single SPST On-Off Switch: Enhanced Bezel Design for Easy Operation Review

The switch works great in my RV bathroom. I installed it so the little lady or kids don't have to use a stool to get to the rooftop light switch. The rear connectors are smaller, but I found a connector kit at a local store in Napa. Connections are labeled, installation is easy.

As these switches are primarily made of plastic, care must be taken when installing these switches. I took my time and in both installations they ran fine and work very well. The maximum size of your wiring can be 18 gauge or less. JR Products will be my sole source for my LED lighting projects.

Arrived today, went to install and there is only one clamp to connect the wire. the other literally sits in the package. My question is, do they control sub-par quality? Do I even trust him in the car I'm sleeping in? It falls apart in the packaging. How do I know it won't fall apart or fail while I sleep?

When I was looking for an on/off switch I fitted a surface switch. Be careful though, a very good switch that matches another motorhome. The switch is not designed for surface mounting. It actually requires a fairly large rectangular hole to flush mount, which means pulling out the dremel and cutting into position. It would be nice to know this in advance.

Instead I replaced a tiny rocker switch in a wheeled bathroom with this switch. It's a huge improvement and it has a nice smooth swing. I had to trim the hole in the wall a bit to fit, but it only took a minute or less (thin walls). Love it and it has really improved the look of my campervan, one less reason to trade it in for a new one.

Good build quality and they match perfectly with the other switches in my motorhome. Note though that these switches use 3/16" spade lugs (not 1/4") and if you have small gaps behind the switch you will need to use lug type (90 degree) sockets which are really hard to find and expensive , if you have to order them. So plan ahead!

Big pros and cons of this switch. First, they're good for 99.9% RV, so they're a good RV switcher in that regard. However, I will never use them again as they don't sit flush. If you remove the top plate you have the switch part. On the wood-facing back, the plastic sticks out about 1/8 inch. Maybe I missed it, maybe there's a washer I could use, but in my experience with this switch, if you attach it to wood and put the cover on you have almost 1/8 inch open gap around the unit. and this is…
