JVC HAETX30A Extreme Fitness Headphones Review

I ordered this pretty much exactly 3 years ago and have run literally thousands of miles and 4 marathons in it. Includes 4-hour drives in the pouring rain. Sure the sound quality could be better, but the fact that they can be worn semi-in-ear means they're perfect for road running because I can keep an eye on my surroundings. I took them on the Camino de Santiago 500 mile round trip through Spain and then used them for about a year when I returned home I lost them and then bought another pair. I will keep buying them until I or the company is dead. I gave it a 4/5 for comfort because they always sit weird in my ears. It's comfortable, but I notice that the sound quality degrades at times, so I have to squeeze it around my ear. They come with three ports, but hey, they're not the best.

I love how well they stay in place. Regular in-ear headphones that just plug into my ear canal always fall out of my ears when I walk. But the little hook-like thing on these earbuds presses against the pinna, and that seems to hold them in place very well. The rubber padding on the earcups blocks out ambient noise just as well as foam earbuds, allowing me to listen to quieter music while running.
