Quilt Book

Sixteen Japanese quilt designs - including sashiko, oragami and appliqué designs in designs. Technology section. All small window projects are 19" x 19". Fine oriental fabrics.

A few good ideas.

I liked the book BUT it was one of Kumiko Sado's weakest attempts. To be honest, I think she's running out of ideas. If you have any of her other books I really wouldn't spend money on this one unless you can't live without her entire set in your library.

I like the memories, 1-2 pages, stories from her childhood in Japan, and the drawings are beautifully presented. Her 15 designs are 19 x 19 inch blocks meant to be hung like the silk or paper scrolls she remembers from Japan. All are hand-sewn and quilted. The Chrysanthemum Moon cover is the best of 15. Attach some photos: The lantern and crane are almost as good as the cover. In this book that uses sashiko embroidery, they are minimal, as is the cover. This is an almost entirely handmade…
