Description of πŸ”¨ Enhance Your Craftsmanship with KAKURI Japanese Woodworking Carpenter Octagonal Tools

JAPANESE HAMMER WOODWORKING TOOL: It is a high-quality Japanese hammer ideal for adjusting planes, chiseling, and nailing. This Japanese woodworking tool is called genno hammer that can be used by beginners to a professional carpenter. DOUBLE FACED OCTAGON HEAD: A dual head supports your woodworking. One side is flat, and the other is slightly domed. When nailing, start to nail with a flat face and then striking it with a dome-shaped surface to finish it. By doing so, the surface of the wood is not damaged. Since it is a octagonal head, you can also use the sides of the head to nail in tight spaces. HEAVY DUTY DOUBLE WEDGE: As the wooden wedge and the iron wedge are driven in a cross, the head and handle are firmly fixed, making the hammer heavy-duty. All KAKURI brand products are manufactured in Japan and handcrafted by Japanese craftsmen. COMFORT WOOD HANDLE: The wooden handle is made of natural Japanese oak wood that fits comfortably in your hand. It has a hard, comfort surface finish that gives a feel. PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS: Made in Japan / Size: 3.3Γ—0.9Γ—12.9 inches / Head weight: 300 g / Weight: 14.1 oz / Head thickness: 25 mm / Head: Japanese carbon steel / Handle: natural oak wood.

Good but a few flaws

This is a good little hammer but I expected more from a hammer made by and for Japanese artisans. It weighs approximately 14 ounces and has a beautiful, typically Japanese, minimalist design and look. One side is slightly convex and the other flat. I noticed a few unexpected flaws. First, the neck of the handle is rectangular and almost unfinished. As a result, the edges are actually quite sharp. There's nothing sandpaper can't do. Maybe that's on purpose? Second, the head is not in the center…

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Crumpled

a head that has a slightly curved striking face while being flat. The curve is quite faint and I will mark the hammer with a marker on the side of the flat surface to easily distinguish the two faces. The handle is made of oak, not varnished or oiled. The hammer feels good in the hand and is well balanced with a weight of 14.1 ounces (300 grams). I liked the polished Japanese steel bezels. They are made in Japan by a Japanese company (Kakuri) with a tradition of handcrafted tools since 1946…

Pros
  • Absolute legend
Cons
  • High price

The real Genno hammer. Manufactured in Niigata, Japan.

This is a traditional Japanese mallet that has been made with quality and care for centuries. Quality and workmanship are excellent. The carbon steel head is a carefully selected blend of ingredients that create the perfect balance of hardness and softness, resulting in the perfect woodworking percussion tool. The shape, size, weight and overall design of the head has so many uses. There are so many ways to use a hammer. The rounded face allows you to hit at an angle and with big swings. The…
