Works well. I use some old Casio batteries for this. I usually build my own chargers and charging circuits from scratch but it costs about $10 so why not. Not sure if the device recognizes polarity or if I just got lucky on the first try. The only minor flaw has to do with the shape of my Casio batteries, they are bent at the opposite end of the battery contacts so they are very close to popping out.
