Great idea and worked for the (1) RV trip we used it for but when my wife took it out of the microwave to come home , the part fell apart . I might be able to use JB Weld or something, but even then the smell is just awful. I can compare it to mothballs. Maybe if I paint the smell will go away, but why bother.

I think they sorted out the kinks. I installed this thing and used it with a thick roll of towels and everything worked fine. I can rip and spin the reel and it won't move. I think the necessary changes have been made from the previous version. This worked very well for me. I have it on a solid steel plate, maybe that's one of the reasons mine works well.

Constant disagreements and attempts to find a place for towels. So that they are accessible and do not disturb. I thought I wanted hooks under the cabinets, but no, our bottom shelves are too thick. Happened to them and immediately realized it was the perfect answer. As others have pointed out, there is a very small downside: it would definitely be better if the nuts/bolts were black instead of silver.

The magnets were disappointingly weak. I tried placing them on the side of the large handyman tool cabinet and on the legs of a thick metal tool table. In both cases the entire available area of the magnet was used. After two months of use, one end of the holder fell off the fridge, hit the counter and broke in two. Now it's useless. Up to this point it has worked fairly well with regular sized paper towel rolls. Big rolls didn't work so well until we used some paper towels. If you're buying small rolls, this holder will likely fit.
