Efficient Control System: KB Electronics 8811001 KBMC 13BV Control Review

Used as a switch replacement on my dual fan chimney. It worked perfectly for 2 heating periods (11/16 - 10/18), but this autumn the fans weren't running at full speed. Ordered another one (installed 19.01) works fine so far. A nice feature is the low speed control - allows you to set the minimum speed so your fans don't stop.

Item received and installed quickly. Everything worked fine for about 72 hours. The variable speed worked well, and then as my wife sat by the fireplace insert, the controller shorted out, shooting some sparks around the room. Now the controller still works, but only at maximum speed, the variable speed part seems to have exploded. Not feeling safe with this item. There are no burned wires to and from the switch.
