Description of ๐Ÿ”Œ KeeYees ESP-WROOM-32 Microcontroller Development Board with Dual Core WLAN WiFi + Bluetooth 2-in-1 - 2PCS Set for Arduino

This module is safe, reliable, and scalable to a variety of applications. The module has 38 pins and has more features than a 30-pin module. And smaller in size, more convenient to use. Support Lua program, easy to develop. Support of three modes: AP, STA and AP + STA. This board is used with 2.4 GHz dual-mode Wi-Fi and Bluetooth chips ESP-WROOM-32, as well as the 40nm low-power technology.

NEW IN CODING - works great

I'm a complete novice when it comes to programming and electrical engineering. (less than two weeks). I thought this board would be difficult to use, but I got Blink up and running in five minutes. No more difficult to use than any other breadboard.

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Modern

A little extra work is worth it

Not the first Arduino enthusiast, but what an amazing value. This board is a Nodemcu 32S and it will take a little extra work to get it working in the Arduino IDE, but it is very well integrated and if you already have other ESP32 boards it shouldn't be difficult to use it set up. Deducted one star for a bent GPIO pin that almost touched the neighboring pin. The devices arrived in vacuum sealed bags placed on a styrofoam pad. Worked like a champ once I set it up. Incredible value for thisโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Nice build
Cons
  • Useless features

Excellent price. Works perfectly. Documentation is limited.

Mine has worked well so far. My only complaint is that the pins don't match the other ESP-32 development board, and the diagrams in particular have me concerned about the Vin5V pin. As with Arduino boards, my other ESP32 board had a 5V pin connected directly to USB 5V. This design allowed me to use it to either power the board or power small loads. This meant I could safely work over USB or with a single power supply: plug it into USB and 5V would power devices, plug it into 5V and it wouldโ€ฆ

  • Worth the money
Cons
  • Ok

Some problems . for computers and accessories

1. Programming with Arduino requires the push of a button. Just get a modern model that doesn't need it.2. WiFi doesn't work out of the box. You need to place a hefty tantalum capacitor (5-10uF) between 3.3V and GND (last pins on 2 sides, opposite USB). Otherwise, the power surge from WIFI will reset the device immediately when WIFI is turned on. This is unacceptable. The capacitor must be on the board. There is indeed a tantalum cap on the board next to the 3.3V regulator, but that's probablyโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Quick-Change
Cons
  • Almost never

Poor quality on single board computers

Very poor packaging and board quality. Both boards came with short styrofoam and protruding pins. The protruding pins on one circuit board were bent and had to be carefully straightened out with needle nose pliers (see image below). On another board, the rows of pins have been expanded on both sides. I tried straightening them out and getting them to move a bit but couldn't align them well enough for fear they might break the board or remove the traces (see image). Because of this, it won't fit

Pros
  • Everyone likes it so far
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product
