Unsafe cable protection

My laptop was stolen. The plastic plate has been removed from the laptop. You just scraped something sharp between the platter and the laptop until it lost its grip. The same laptop was additionally secured with a Kensington Ultra combination cable lock for laptops and other devices (K64675US) which I purchased from Revain and which was mechanically broken. It seems that this is not a deterrent for real professional thieves.

Used to protect a home safe

Have a small home safe for documents and money at home. Wanted to create a deterrent for those walking with it. The outside of the small safe is made of plastic, the glue did a great job on the case. Now I anchor it to a solid object and have some level of security. There aren't many secure fixed object file solutions that I could find. Great quality, serves its purpose.

Pros
  • Nice
Cons
  • Too dull

Plan on having to provide your own glue.

I have ordered washers for some Mac Minis from our office. I ordered 2 sets and in BOTH sets the glue was completely dry and like a really really thick rubber glue. Now in my limited time I need to buy some glue to use this set. By no means the biggest deal in terms of cost, but it's a big problem that we've delayed launching their offices.

Pros
  • Availability
Cons
  • Minor issues

Exactly as described and works well

Exactly what I expected and as described. Ease of installation. Strong attachment of the "module" with the included superglue. The cord is long enough for three items. I put mine through a large eyebolt in the wall so the systems wouldn't go anywhere. I think this item might deserve 5 stars, but in terms of necessity and function, it's not always attractive. It's not entirely Kensington's fault. But something brilliant would deserve a 5th star :)

Pros
  • Great range
Cons
  • not reliable

Useful at first glance, but not very good for security

The cable and lock are quite strong. However, they send glue for the white caps that the cable runs through to block the hardware. It will not be difficult for anyone to break off this white nozzle and pick up the device. Also, my Dell computers have holes in the metal case for the lock cable to pass through. However, the cable head is too thick to pass through these more secure holes. So I had to buy other lock cables.

Pros
  • There are few competitors
Cons
  • There are shortcomings

Amazing, great price.

I chose this one because I had a monitor with no lock slot. Finding a lock with your own plates was almost impossible! The kit contains 3 plastic discs and a tube of superglue. Advantages: thick cable, discs stick well. Cons: The cable only works with washers (no locking slots) or holes to route it through. I don't want to put a disc in my computer, so I use my old padlock for that.

Pros
  • Finally bought
Cons
  • Zero

Epoxy didn't stick well

I've used it for a while to protect a monitor and two external hard drives. One of the hard drives died and I wanted to supply a replacement so I ordered another set. While waiting I wondered if I could remove the plastic anchor and reuse it. I put it on the table, put the putty knife on the joint and tore it off with a weak blow. Now I don't feel safe. The epoxy that came with the kit worked well, but didn't stick to the hard drive's plastic case as firmly as I expected.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • I'll write back later

Well, my stuff is still here, so.

I hope I never have to find out if they are affective or not, so I can only comment on the concept. You can either tie two things to a sturdy, heavy object like a large table, or you can tie three things together (like the one in the picture) and have someone take all three at once. and walk out your door. Of course, none of this matters if the person knows you have cords and brings along a fancy bolt cutter. I had never seen a product like this so I was delighted to install it (it took 5…
