As others have said, what I should have read doesn't match my chip for my 1999 Camry. I could see it breaking the shavings when you tried to close it.

My granddaughter is so thrilled that it worked. The clip detached from the original remote but still worked. We were able to replace the guts and it worked great.

The top ring of the case was broken and we thought we'd have to buy a new key fob when all we needed was the case! It's fairly easy to migrate old components to the new shell and so far it's held up well and all features continue to work. Inexpensive solution :)

As a result, it worked. The key fob is slightly thicker than the original key fob. The difference is pretty small to be honest, but there is a difference.
