DOES NOT WORK for anti-theft

NOT COMPATIBLE WITH ALL 1999 VW BEETLES. IF YOU TAKE A CR1620 BATTERY IT WILL NOT WORK. CR2032 IS A DIFFERENT CASE AND THE ELECTRONICS ARE NOT COMPATIBLE. BATT GROUND IS ALSO DIFFERENT FROM 2032 BATT.

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Low repairability

Amazing, simple, costs a lot less than losing the key

Amazing and easy to replace. Now I won't lose the key. I lost it at IKEA and anyone who has been there knows it's a giant maze. You don't need to replace it now. By the way, a new key costs about 300 US dollars. So if yours is broken, buy it now.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • small things

Great replacement for your broken VW key fob!

So far so good. I disassembled the broken regular key fob and threw it all away. Car locked, unlocked, starts normally. Only now I can put my keychain back on the keychain. Car VW Jetta 2003 release. Much better than the broken block of sticks in front of it.

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • the list will be long.

Not identical to factory Does not fit

Does not fit . You cannot insert a computer board and close the cover. On the outside of the case the exact size of the internals doesn't match my 2001 factory trailer ☹ plus mine is designed as a 6 volt system with 2 batteries and this is my second attempt at getting the right one and both were for 1 3 volt -Battery. Getting a keychain shouldn't be that difficult.

Better buy a whole new key fob

I figured I could save some money by just buying this shell and redesigning the innards of the original shell. It turned out that the internal dimensions did not match and the internals of the original (same model number) did not fit this shell. I returned this and ordered their entire keychain (top/bottom) and everything was perfect. Good company, good product. Just make sure what you really need. This was for a 2001 VW Beetle, by the way, which apparently had two different key fob styles…

Fits Passat 02 with some modifications

Bought to replace the lower key fob for my Passat 02. The key fob is positioned and well made just like the factory key fob, but I had to file down some parts of the key fob to allow it to fit comfortably onto my existing original key blade and the top of the key fob without separation. the upper part at the seams as well as without modifications. The electronics of the standard key fob fit easily on the new one, all buttons have been working for a few months. Overall, if you have a set of…

Design issue in the new case

I moved a small computer circuit board into the new case and when it came time to snap the back into place I realized the black rectangle on top of the circuit board didn't match in NEW back. The NEW back cover has a tab that prevents it from being installed so I had to use the OLD back cover which kind of defeats my purpose. I've attached a photo for clarification. If you look at this image, it's going to be a bit difficult to isolate that protrusion in the photo, but just visualize the right…

Pros
  • Anti-theft device

  • Not as thick as other lock picks
