Budget solution: Interior

I had problems with the buttons of the regular key fob that came with the car. When I bought this I took the circuit board out of my original key fob, popped it into this key fob and everything worked great without the need for dealer activation. May not work for you if your problem is different than mine, but worth a try.

Big! Do not buy from your local dealer!

My keyless remote was not working well and did not improve even after changing the battery. I went to my local Chevy dealership and was almost tricked into buying this SAME remote keyless entry for $120. They also wanted to charge 50 for programming BUT I read an amazing review of this product that suggested just replacing the old top with the new one as the problem is probably the buttons losing contact. It worked great.

Despite the description, it didn't fit my 2011 Chevy Malibu

The car manufacturers must have redesigned the key fob because it didn't fit my car. It had a baffle in the back half of the fob for the battery, and the fob that came with the car has the battery on the circuit board, so it didn't work without a reconfiguration. Too risky for me to try. I just have to do without. The recommendation said it would work for my car, but it didn't.
