Save money, they die quickly

A little more than a month has passed and one of them has already stopped working. Put new battery in and still nothing. The range of the transmitter, when working, was nowhere near as good as the OEM fobs. OEM key fobs were losing their range so I bought them. Luckily the OEMs will still manage the doors, at least even if I have to be closer than before.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • There are doubts

Good replacement key fob

Will the device last as long as the original key fob? The time will show. Pros: I programmed the key fob on my 2008 Chevy Avalanche LTZ in less than 30 seconds. The range seems to be the same as the OEM key fob. I no longer have to press lock/unlock multiple times for an action to take place. Good price. Cons: The key fob feels cheap and doesn't have markings on the back of the remote like a factory fob to show the part number, battery change number, etc.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Only available in white

They look great and look like the original remotes

I had a 2011 Chevy Silverado 3500 LTZ. They look great and feel like original remote controls. The only problem is that I couldn't find a way to program them for my year and newer without the help of a locksmith or dealer. If your truck or vehicle cannot be reprogrammed via an in-dash facility, you will need a computer to connect to the sensor. I may be wrong but please tell me if you find another way.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Not the best

Easy to program, perfect replacement.

Bought these for parts on my 2009 Chevy Traverse. Easy to program. The only problem I had was that when I programmed the first key the programming was lost when I programmed the second. My second factory unit also lost programming which made me think I could only program 2 keys at a time. I decided to program all the buttons at once and it worked great. With the ignition on, program all keys and turn the ignition off.

Pros
  • Nice item
Cons
  • Expensive

Dealer needs to tether them to the car or use a GM Tech2 scanner

Dealer needs to tether them to the car on a 2013 GMC Sierra 2500HD. On older vehicles they can be tethered to the vehicle without special tools, but not on newer vehicles (requires GM Tech2 scanner, regular universal scanners will not work). The fee was about $30 at the dealer. They work great but the white labels started fading after a few months of use. Given the price difference, I would do the same if given the choice.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons

Recommended and easy to program

It's great! I bought a pink sunroof/back window button kit for my Chevy Tahoe and it was very easy to program, but my husband lost his key fob so I ordered this blue kit for his only Chevy Silverado and he got it straight away furnished. I like having color options as we have 4 cars and know which set of keys to take. The dealer wanted to charge me $89 for 1 and it was used! I'm glad I found her. We're not into technology because we're more stubborn than everyone else and we programmed it fast!

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Security
