Bought a keychain case to replace the button elastic on my veil. I will cut the key off and set it aside to use if and when the original key fob slows down.

This is a great upgrade for my 14 year old Dodge. The key looks good and works great with the normal key electronics. I got a new key from Home Depot for free. I am satisfied with this product.

As described you need to replace the internals, it's hard to find someone to cut the key 🗝️ expensive or spots won't be cut Ace Hardware I would find like , but had to buy some Ace hardware when it changed.

I was able to pull out the uncut key and insert my old key that had fallen out of my old key fob, it was already cut for my truck and then put everything else back together as usual. I used a tool to pull out the key, it was very easy for me, I feel very comfortable!

I received exactly what I ordered but I don't think I understood what I ordered. I thought I could just take the case for my existing key and replace it with this one, but the metal key is actually physically attached to the black case. You have to cut it and swap out the electronic guts. It's a hollow plastic case with spare rubber buttons and a blank metal key.

You can't just swap out your key for a new case. The electronics move well, but the base of the standard metal key is very different from the included metal insert. Anyway that was my case with the Ram 07. Luckily the metal insert works well with it if you copy your old key onto it. I gave it 3 stars because it wasn't compatible with my car unless I took additional steps that weren't DIY as expected. Although it works fine now.

First, it is just a case and a blank key. It is designed to be cut by any key cutter at any hardware store. Then you take the board out of your old key and put it in this one. I ordered it and didn't look at the picture. The buttons are not the same as my 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 key fob. I cannot rate it lower due to my own ignorance. The electronics match neither the buttons nor the battery. However, the electronics fit into the key fob and the key was the correct backup key. Shave it down for $2.62 and slip electronics from an old keychain into it. So I don't have a key fob that works remotely, but I do have a key that works from the doors and with the electronics…
