This was an inexpensive way to replace an existing Chevrolet key with a defective part. After watching a YouTube video I managed to change this in 10 minutes.

Very easy to assemble, the only problem was to disassemble the original keychain. Now I have a trunk button that works! It also comes with a key that you can cut out if you want to attach the key.

Works great after installing the existing circuit board but I was unable to reset the switch spring with the same tension when reassembling the fob. Manufacturer's recommendations. how to do that would be great.

It worked but I had to find a small pin and just change the blade. It would have been a lot easier to change the entire blade and loop, but it didn't fit. I tried cutting a new blade first but couldn't find anyone who could cut which they didn't sell.

I was hoping this would be a quick and easy PCB replacement. Not this case. The key mechanism tolerances are not OEM tolerances, so you can't just plug in and key in your old board. You will need to remove the retaining pin on the original key and file your key to fit the new key holder. It gets the job done without paying the dealer $150 for a new key, but it's a lot more frustrating than it should have been.

Here's the thing. This item was ordered as a replacement key for a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze. It is very close but NOT an exact copy of this key. First, the keyboard has hard keys, not the rubber keys of the original. That's a good thing, because the chipped rubber keys meant that the key case had to be replaced.
