There was no direct replacement of internal components from the OEM key fob. With a bit of fiddling I was able to get it working and use a Dremel tool to cut a new key to get it working without having to pay a hardware store to cut the key.

I would give 5 stars but there were no instructions on how to fit the key fob. Judging by the appearance and the description here, this is a spare key. It doesn't mean I have to assemble it and cut the key. NO INSTRUCTIONS!

Basically the circuit board had to be replaced with a new key fob but the rubber buttons on the replacement key fob didn't work with the circuit board so I had to use my original rubber buttons frustrated with this part of the build.

I was impressed with how well made these keys/key cases are. Unfortunately I had to send them back as they could NOT screw my previous key into the case. I would definitely buy from them again! Everything was delivered so perfectly and the content of each key was in a separate package!

I took all the circuitry out of my existing key fob and put it in this one and then took it to Home Depot to have it cut. Although it's not a "chip" key, they said they don't cut keys, which they no longer sell. Same goes for Lowe's and even my local hardware store. The locksmith wanted $50 to cut it and the dealer wanted $75 so it's still just in a drawer. But then again, the electronic parts I removed from the old key fit perfectly.

Our old rings broke off our old keys. This is a great way to replace them. You MUST put your own internals in your own key holders. Be very careful with the battery holder, it is very fragile and can easily break if you are not careful. When we replaced the key fobs, for some reason the new plastic cover (the flexible rubber piece with the "lock, unlock and panic button") did NOT work. Big.

Worked great my local gear cut the key for me. No programming required when changing PCB! A note to buyers: when I replaced the circuit board, I also had to replace the battery holder and rubber keypad. The battery holder that came with it didn't make contact with the circuit board in the right place, be sure to check if your key doesn't work. I also changed the chiclet keyboard and the one that came with it worked, but I had to press hard to get the contact.
