Good alternative to the dealer

Good alternative to the dealer. However, you can easily find a shop (Ace) that makes the key, but you still have to drive to the dealer to program the iy.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • Only available in black

Attention buyers: Don't be fooled by the 4 stars on this product

Wrong product. According to a professional locksmith, this is not compatible with my machine. The package and product description lists a compliant FCC ID, but when you open the key to look at the RF, it has a completely different FCC ID.

Exactly what I needed!

I bought this so we can have a spare key for my son's car. The Honda dealer wanted $160 for a new key. They said they would program a $130 aftermarket key but wouldn't cut it. I took it to a locksmith to have it cut and to my surprise they said they could cut it and program it for $75. This key looks just like the original, just without the logo.

Ignition Key for Honda

OK I think but without a dealer or a competent mechanic you still won't be able to code the ignition off code in your car. Programming the buttons and actually cutting the key is not a big deal, but the final step costs as much in most cases as a new key made only at the dealership. Most dealers do not guarantee this key; They want you to buy them (probably the same ones anyway).

Great remote that works

Works perfectly! My old remote broke (couldn't lock/unlock the car) and didn't want to pay more than $100 to have a new one made at the dealership, so I just took the remote out and installed it in the original key, leaving the original Anti theft chip 'in' to start the car. Reprogrammed the remote part and it works great! Saved lots of money too.

Simple and accessible to everyone

Cut out the key ($25), program it according to the instructions provided and it did everything except START the car. None of the websites I visited or the U-Tube videos I watched explained enough that there were two things that needed programming. First, the buttons on the key that open and close the doors are simple and can be made by anyone. The second is to tie the chip in the key to a specific car's ignition. This can only be done by a dealer or locksmith who has special software. I took it
