easy DIY; You may need to do some research and be patient

Got this for my girlfriend and we programmed it ourselves thanks to the internet and YouTube. We had to remove the transponder chip from her old key and put it in this new fob to start the car. We were able to program the key with a master key, but we never got a master key from a used car store. You can ask a locksmith to do all of this, but you can do it without a locksmith if you want to save money. I believe her car is a 2011 Corolla.

Pros
  • Freehand
Cons
  • A little wrinkled

Not all 2010 Corollas are compatible.

Folks, if you own a 2010 Corolla like me, that's a risky proposition at best. My original key is stamped "dot" not "G". However it turned out that the Corollas had a model change in mid 2010 and this key was NOT compatible with my Corolla. As crazy as it sounds, you're better off spending three times the money at an auto mechanic to get something that's guaranteed to work. But don't even think about going to the dealer ($$$). Do you shop here? They pretty much roll the dice.

1 remote control failed in 2 days

Not a good price. Remote controlled door/trunk opening pre-programmed and working. The dealer programmed a transponder chip to allow the key to start the car (Corolla 2010) The remote control/tailgate failed in 2 days - changing the battery didn't help. When the buttons are pressed, the light does not flash. The warranty phone number has been overloaded. I waited 5 minutes only to be redirected to voicemail which asked for my phone number and said they would call within 24 hours. 5/9/17 - more…

"G " stamped key is not compatible with ". " stamped key

According to Revain these keys are compatible with my 2009 Toyota Corolla which has a DOT stamped key. They even came up with a note that the "G" key was backward compatible with the "DOT" keys. However, the locksmith I tried to add these keys to my car's immobilizer said the system doesn't recognize them. However, the locksmith could program the remote functions. So I bought one of his aftermarket non-remote keys and turned one of those keys into a remote key fob. The RFID signal in the second

Very pleasantly surprised!

I was a little nervous about buying these remote keys because they were so much cheaper than the $237 the Toyota dealer said for just 1 blank key. Its price was $69 to cut and program its $237 key for a total of $306. With these two bundles of $33 keys and $90 keys for cutting and programming, my grand total was only $123. The only downsides are: 1. These keys don't have a Toyota logo on the back as they aren't an OEM replacement, and 2. Finding a locksmith willing to cut and program them…
