It didn't work for me. The post suggested that I could program the remote control for my Chevy G30 myself. After I received the key fob, the online instructions told me to look for a locksmith.

Had to call a locksmith who came and installed it on my caddy. Works great, the only complaint and the biggest of them - the trunk is very delicate, the lightest touch opens it. I close it all the time and half the time I don't even know it's open until I go outside and it's open there.

Less than half the OEM price and they work great. It took me 2 or 3 minutes to follow the instructions in the 2001 Corvette owner's manual and they were programmed and working, although they came with a little note saying they had to be dealer made because they were special hardware required for programming. .

Based on other reviews I was skeptical that the dealer would have any problems programming these remotes after sale. However, they arrived on time. I took them to the dealer. The maintenance department charged $65 for their programming. This took about 45 minutes. But the end result was a significant saving compared to buying from a retailer and programming the remotes. Both remote controls have worked flawlessly so far (in all functions).

I bought this because the dealer wanted to charge me $150 for a new keychain. That works great. I agree with other reviews about accidentally opening my trunk. The other day my husband got up for work and the trunk was open. LAUGH OUT LOUD. My trunk is always empty, so it doesn't really matter, but it's kind of funny. The dealer wanted to charge 100 to plug mine in so I called AAA and told them my key fob needed fixing and they sent someone to do it for free.
