I bought and activated 4 of these on 3 different VWs and NONE of the trunk buttons worked, they worked fine on the old remotes. I took apart one of the new remotes for the switches and replaced it in my old remotes and threw away the new ones.

I took the keys to a local key cutter and they cut and programmed both keys with no problem. I know other incompatible keys are sold, but keys from KeylessOption appear to be legal. Glad that option was available.

Working. Requires programming an internal chip blade ($30 if you do it yourself OR $70 if you order a service) and cutting a key blade ($50). Two different processes. To sync and program 3 buttons, you need to watch the video on YouTube.

waste of money. $30 key, $75 cut both and couldn't program the locksmith, went to a VW dealership and they couldn't do both for another $100. Had to order 1 from dealer ($150) plus another $100 for programming. 2006 Beetle. I will never buy a Beetle again. (newer ones that require a keychain)

This product did not work with my 2006 VW BEETLE Covertible. I tried to contact the company for a refund and they said my return window had already expired. I cut the keys from a local locksmith and went to the dealership, paid $$$ to have them programmed into the car and they didn't disable the car's immobilizer system.

Gross negligence in the quality of the electronics. They're not properly covered with standard "moisture protection" - we're not talking waterproofing, you just need to use a quality circuit board to protect it from everyday use. Poor quality solder is used to make chips. Intermittent and annoying button problems persist. PS - if water was spilled on it, it would corrode. This shows that it's just the moisture that's ruining it.
