Strange Plastic Smell

My son was so excited about this green hoodie because it's his favorite color but has a strange smell even after washing several times.

Crazy. Take two great sweatshirts. . . . cut them in half. . . sew them together. Made in China.

I'm sorry but I don't understand this sweatshirt. China took two different sweatshirts. . . .cut them in half. . . .and then sewed them together. Why? There are a few options in the listing that aren't the same, but the rest are. It just doesn't make sense. It doesn't look like it. If they weren't cut and sewn back together, they would be your "average" sweatshirt.

This super soft hoodie features an updated color block design. Featuring striped ribs, open seams and a brand logo patch to the chest. Slightly strange frontend design, seems to be a bug.
