Exactly what I was looking for!

I was looking for a children's gift for a couple with three little girls, one of whom is a newborn. A step stool is a great gift that all three girls can use at some point. The storage stage doubled as a basket for other items that I locked away. Who doesn't need extra storage space?!?

Pros
  • understandable even for an old man
Cons
  • annoying

Easy assembly, strong and comfortable!

My 3 year old asked for a new ladder and this was very cute and I also liked that it had storage. It was pretty easy to assemble, save for one screw that just took a drill and went right in. Looks great, everything is assembled and very solid, plus my daughter loves it! Excellent purchase!

Pros
  • A dream come true
Cons
  • There is nothing here

Very cute but has a small defect

Nice little stool but one of the parts has a defect which means that one of the screws cannot be fully tightened. The screw is not flush with the side panel. It was very annoying trying to put everything together and figure it out. Sure, it's not good that the screw partially protrudes on the side, but at the same time I shouldn't disassemble the thing and send it in for a new one.

Pros
  • Easy assembly
Cons
  • Expensive insurance

Totally maintenance free at KidKraft

Assembled according to instructions. The lid's hinge mount has been "frozen" right out of the box and will not open to attach to the stool body and lid. In 3 days I've made 2 online requests for a spare part, 1 attempt by phone (leave a callback number for a robotic system) and 1 email. I received an automated email reply "We will contact you" with no further response. I still have about 12 hours to take it apart with a hammer and send it back. It is fully assembled but not safe to use without…

Pros
  • Well built

  • Something different

Breat Furniture Step Stool

I bought this step stool as an alternative to a gift basket for storing shower gifts. I love this stool. It's the perfect size for a new mom to sit on while bathing her daughter and to help the new little princess when she's old enough to brush her teeth and wash her hands in the sink. There is a compartment under the lid for bath toys, hair accessories or other small items that you want to store there. I added a few bath supplies, left the lid open, and wrapped it in clear plastic and a bow…

Cracked and broken right after assembly.

I usually like Kid Craft products. They are generally well made and easy to assemble. I finished the assembly and put it in the bathroom. My daughter called me. The supports on the bottom cracked where the screws went in without over tightening. However, it still seemed solid, so I just ordered a replacement. The whole stool collapsed under the slight pressure. I received my new one. I opened the box and the whole large slab was scratched. I was very disappointed and decided to send both back…

Difficult to assemble/parts didn't work properly

Seems pretty solid so far. My main complaint is that some of the screws were difficult to install because I had to insert them twice (once to widen the holes and then to push them all the way in). Another major dissatisfaction of mine with the product is that the part that is supposed to hold the lid when opening is stuck and unable to perform its function. So I have to keep a hand on the lid as long as I need it open. The surface is a bit slippery so my senior cat (the intended recipient)…

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Infinitely sluggish
