Favorite Fermentation Glass - Quality Glassware!

One of my favorite fermentation glasses in my canteen kitchen. I manage junior chefs and we love the quality of the glass and how easy it is to set up and use. Fantastic product!

Bad Jar: Kitchen and Dining

I used this jar for fermenting vegetables. I put it in the dishwasher to sterilize and it ripped at the seam. I was told that I couldn't buy another glass, that I would have to buy the whole set. Dissatisfied!

Pros
  • Keeping my Fists
Cons
  • High Price

Disappointing unless you make large batches

I wish I had bought the traditional pottery. The hole is too narrow to be filled comfortably. And to make matters worse, the weights only go all the way to the top, so if you fill it halfway, the weights are useless. And I rarely need cabbage for four cabbages.

  • New to my collection

Be very very careful when cleaning

This would be a great product if the glass wasn't so fragile. It's flimsy and dangerous to clean: it broke after I'd barely tapped it on the sink and scrubbed the inside between the starter. Good volume, good cap and valve and all that. But I will look for something cheaper until they increase the thickness of the glass.

Pros
  • Handsfree
Cons
  • Damaged

Doesn't work in storage and organization

I bought this jar thinking it would be a great upgrade to an old jar and water filled pouch. There's never been an enzyme that's gone bad to make crappy home-made setups with less sanitation. Started with a can of Kilner and literally every starter went bad. There is a design flaw here that makes it leaky. Definitely choose this product.

Pros
  • Brilliantly made
Cons
  • New competition has arrived

Super easy fermentation so far

I'm considering a 5-part fermentation set. You can tell the tin is well made but I had a few questions so I had to contact the UK based manufacturer. First, there's a floating bowl in the airlock that confused me. The rubber stopper is the stopper, and the sheath is the part of the tube that has a thinner tube inside. You put on a wooden cover and then put a plug and airlock in the hole, which are made out of one piece. The floating cup sits on a thinner tube inside the sluice. You fill the…
