Great oil but cheap product!

I have used it on my grandchildren aged 2 to 11 and it has turned out to be a delicious oil. When I first used it, the wood on the handle came off. The part holding it is very small and we couldn't find it on the floor. It still worked by simply turning a metal knob, but not so easy for small hands.

Pros
  • Brilliantly made
Cons
  • Can I add anything?

Be very careful with the butter churn

I bought this butter churn as a gift for my father. There was no clip or seal to attach the butter churn to the tin, which made it very easy to slide out. The glass broke on the first use and it was almost impossible to find a replacement (even through Kilner). My dad replaced his butter churn and the new one (I think it's a refurbished Kilner keg) has clips to attach the butter churn to the tin which makes it a little more stable.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Exterior

Got a nice thing with Jar Cracked

------------UPDATE------------ It was a few months and still there is no word from the seller about a replacement can. I got this for Christmas and thought it was nostalgia. Instead, the experience was terrible. If only I could put a lower star. I would have cracked it and the glass. Still no response from Kilner regarding a replacement. Disappointing. will update if i ever get a replacement and can test it

Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Broke after first use

First use was great - the oil was perfect and it was really nice to see how everything went (glass). The handle stopped working on the second use. It spun, and nothing happened to the "crown" inside. I've tried troubleshooting but it looks like the inner rod just doesn't fit anymore. Ooooh disappointed. **Upgrade**, the company sent me a new one for free. I've used the new one once and so far so good. Hope it keeps working!

Pros
  • Good workmanship
Cons
  • No

Not recommended

It took more than 10 minutes to cook the butter, more like half an hour or more. I can make it twice as fast just by whipping cream in a standard jar. The lid is loose and the jar is not a standard wide mouth mason jar as some of the answers in the question section might have you believe. So if you break a can, good luck finding a replacement. Also, quite a bit of metal dust formed on the lid during the beating process. This raises concerns about durability. I was really hoping for a productโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Crumpled
